This biscuit stands apart from the rest of Carmelina’s early specialities because, in addition to the usual ingredients, it contains other flavours that make it unique and delicious.

Tantalising, bold and captivating, Peverini are typical Venetian sweets which, since the 1400s, were made with flour, molasses and pepper. According to some, they derive from original recipes of Ancient Greece, appreciated because they were the favourite and everyday food of the Pythagorean scholars, philosophers and sages.

Thanks to their characteristic peppery note, these biscuits have earned a place of honour in the bacari, the Venetian taverns.

Ingredients: wheat flour, sugar, chopped peanuts, non-hydrogenated vegetable fats (coconut, sunflower), pasteurised eggs, cocoa, butter 2%, pepper, raising agents (E450i disodium diphosphate, E500ii sodium bicarbonate, wheat starch), lemon flavouring, vanillin, salt.
